Studio Walmsley - Vale of Glamorgan

Jacqui Walmsley RIBA

Jacqui Walmsley is Director of Studio Walmsley Architects, having been a founding partner of the practice established in 2014. Her career to date spans the disciplines of jewellery, public art and architecture with the result that she possesses an exceptional range of complementary skills. Drawing subtle influences from each of these art forms, she is a skilful exponent of both the micro and macro scales of architecture and place-making. Jacqui’s interest follows two routes, which occasionally coincide; the first is working with existing buildings on complex sites and the second housing.

She made a leap in scale from jewellery to architecture graduating from the WSA with a BSc in Architecture, First Class Honours (Part I), and the T. Alwyn Lloyd Travelling Scholarship. Fully qualifying in 2006 she met Karen Hoole at the WSA and the two established Hoole & Walmsley Architects from which her current practice evolved. Jacqui is on the editorial advisory panel for Touchstone magazine and has been a judge of the National Eisteddfod Architecture Scholarship.
